The Evolution 500 Series Radio Microphones, previously featured on LTF’s pages,  have evolved as the Sennheiser 500 G2 series. Similarly the old 100 series and 300 series systems are now covered under Sennheiser 100 G2 and Sennheiser 300 G2 pages.

Built to meet the most demanding professional applications, the Evolution 500 Series wireless microphones represented Sennheiser quality at its best. At LTF we stocked all versions of the Sennheiser 500 series and these systems fast became our number one seller.

Our most popular version, the portable EW-512P, sadly, has not been replicated in the 500 G2 series where each component is sold separately. (See system examples for combinations of the new series for various applications.) This system was ideal for on-camera use going well with the new generation of mini DV cameras (VX1000/2000, PD150/250, XL-1 etc.)

Other popular versions included the EW-501P which had a plug on transmitter incorporating P48 phantom mic power. This was ideal to turn any mic into a wireless one! Very popular with news crews and boom operators. (See SKP500 G2 for the latest G2 version.)

For on trolley film work or fixed applications the EW-512 provided a 12V DC or mains driven diversity receiver. The G2 Series retains the rack mountable diversity receiver (EM500 G2) and there is also a twin receiver in 19in rackmount form (EM550 G2)

The original Evolution series components are no longer available, however spares and accessories are still available including:- XLR output/input cables, external receiver powering (4-pin Hirose), Tram mic upgrades etc.
