AD-NP1 - Dummy NP1 Adaptor

The AD-NP1 is a dummy battery/power adaptor is for use in place of an NP 1 style battery. It has provision for external power input feed via either a 4-way XLR or BP 90 (2.1mm) connector. (More details on APR1/2 page.)

NPA - Power Adaptor

This is the most basic of the adaptors available from Hawk-Woods and is suitable for powering most mixers, or DAT recorders. The NPA style adaptor is often used as a charge adaptor.

NPB - Power Adaptor

The NPB range of adaptors forms part of our extensive range of adaptors for sound recordists. No more expensive throw away batteries. Using a Hawk-Woods power adaptor and an SNP-29 battery you can now power a sound mixer all day. This adaptor is supplied fully loaded with two or four auxiliaries (Hirose connectors) and are supplied with switches, all outputs are fused and a low battery voltage indicator is fitted. Basic NPB adaptors fitted with just one main output, and two/four auxiliaries are also available but to order.

NPC - Power Adaptor

The NPC power adaptor has all the benefits of the NPB range but is supplied in a different format and is most accessible when used vertically in a sound bag. All fuses on the switched range of NPB and NPC adaptors are rated to 1.1A continuous hold current and if the current should rise to about 1.7A plus, then the output will go high resistance until such time as the excessive load is removed.

NPR - Regulated Power Adaptor

The NPR type is a 12V regulated output version and is mechanically similar to the NPB. The auxiliary outputs of the NPR type are protected in pairs by 1.1A self resetting thermal devices and a similar higher current thermal device provides overall protection. Total current drawn should be restricted to around 2A, higher currents may be drawn for short periods of time but this may introduce the possibility of a shut down.

NPU - Switched Regulated Dual Voltage Power Adaptor

The NPU adaptor is the latest offering from Hawk-Woods. It is designed to be used with the battery standing on end with the adaptor on top. In this orientation all the outputs are pointing down into the bag for easy distribution and the switches and LEDs are facing up.

The outputs are fully regulated to one of two voltage settings selected by a switch on the side of the unit. This selects either 12Volts or 9.6Volts output. The auxiliaries outputs are fused at 1.1A and each pair has an ON/OFF switch and LED indicator. A red LED low voltage indicator, optimised for Li-Ion batteries, will flash around 11.4Volts to warn of an almost discharged battery.
