CCM Mics Overview

Schoeps Compact Microphones CCM-L, CCM-U

These tiny compact condenser microphones are fully the equal of their more usual, larger counterparts. Despite their small dimensions they have, in principle, the same audio circuitry as the bigger CMC microphones of the Colette Series.CCM-L (detachable cable) and CCM-U (fixed cable) microphones

The CCM is a major step forward in the miniaturization of classic condenser microphone technology, making the presence of the CMC microphone amplifier totally unnecessary. It goes beyond the limits of present active -cable technology as its balanced, low-impedance output guarantees very high immunity to interference – even with cable runs of several hundred meters. The CCM is connected directly to any input with 12 V to 48 V phantom power by the XLR plug at the end of its extremely rugged cable.

There are two versions of each CCM microphone:

  • CCM-L: The cable is removable and small in diameter. The miniature Lemo connector of the connecting cable is plugged in, and then a cap nut is secured so that no rattling can occur.
  • CCM-U: The cable is thicker and connected permanently to the microphone.

Each microphone is supplied with a model SGC, miniature clamp with swivel, and for CCM-L microphones a 5m adaptor cable, Lemo to 3pin XLR style male connector.
